collaborative partnerships in which costs and expertise are shared with synergistic

- Sponsoring
workshops that provide instructional-change tools for public school, college,
and university teachers, counselors, and administrators
- Sponsoring
forums in which employers and educators meet together to discuss changes needed
in public education, and helping with formation of new and improved relationships
between employers and educators
- Providing
a library of tapes and publications for use by individual teachers, faculty, counselors,
and administrators throughout the Valley
- Writing
and distributing newsletters, publications, curriculum materials, and other communications
for educators about teaching methods that help students learn and also disseminating
information to educators and the general public about state and national developments
impacting public education
- Assisting
schools with bulk buying of curriculum
- Collaborating
on grant proposals to help schools and colleges acquire resources needed for improved
teaching methods.
- Working
with community partners to streamline and coordinate the Valley's taxpayer-funded
systems
- Collaborating
with chambers of commerce and economic development agencies on educational-infrastructure
initiatives.
- Providing
materials for, and supporting training efforts for, adoption of Texas Scholars
programs in school districts throughout the Valley, as well as other programs
of the Texas Business and Education Coalition
- Providing
information about the Valley's labor market and educational services to educational
institutions, career/workforce centers, JTPA, and the general public.
