April Michelle Juarez and UPDATE Harlingen South High School

The Tech Prep Dr. Lauro F. Cavazos Scholarship in the amount of $3,000 to UTB was presented to an exceptional student from Harlingen South High School, April Michelle Juarez. By the time of her high school graduation, she had also obtained an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Texas at Brownsville Brownsville.

April has set some clear goals for herself: Bachelor's in Government from UTB, Masters and Law School at St. Mary's University, two years experience as a lawyer, then opening her own law firm, and finially running for State Representative.

By observing what she has already done one realizes her goal IS attainable. Tech Prep is excited that we can be a part of her
educational process.

UPDATE:
April Michelle Juarez is a busy woman. She carries her class load at UTB on two days a week and uses the other days to work full time at A Touch of Texas, a western store in Mercedes. “I’m working on a double major in criminal justice and government” she says, “I didn’t plan for that when I began college.” Her minor is in international business. “That will open the door into corporate law somewhere in the future, April says.
